1 more thing

i would have liked to talk about avatars and how and where to use them. I was able to create one but don't know how or where to use it. the first speaker talked about that and I found it pretty interesting. or maybe to get to play the worldcraft war internet game or whatever its called and how to play it that looked interesting too. i don't really know what else to suggest cuz i don't really know what is out there i learned so much these past 27 things and have actually been using them at work and at home.(though my kid still tells me i'm not very hip) at my family reunion my cousins and family were very impressed that i had a my space account.

this is my final farewell

t

closure

its been a long road. I think I have forgotten about how this all got started. But I have been using some of the things we used. It was a fun hands on experience on learning what's out there. What will I do on the desk anymore? I would like to learn how to do the fancier things in myspace like the slideshows and dressing up blogs and my space. we whipped thru so fast to learn so much I didn't get to learn how to get fancy. I did notice that some people have very fancy professional blogs and I have to admit I'm a little jealous. Although I am totally computer retarded I think I did ok. But I did learn alot. Thanks KCLS it was fun.

podcasts/ebooks

i did some searches on podcasts for dogtraining. it was ok. reading/listening to books on computers in definitely not for me. but it was cool to check it out anyway because i have had people ask to download/access the ebook collection. I can't believe how many different titles, videos and music we offer. Although it does seem to be mainly geared up for a certain group of people. Music was mostly elevator music. I did find a book title "The 100 simple secrets of happy people". I tried my eyes feel a little crossed eyed( i think i'll check out the book). I liked that i can take it with me with my hotmail account and open anywhere. bottomline i think its a great service but call me old fashioned i would like to read from a real book

What REALLY happens when you add Coke to raw pork.

for jean...keeping me on my toes. it seems i did this weeks excercise without even knowing it...thanks Jean!

Google Labs

I tried "Google Suggest" pretty cool. It would really come in handy if you couldn't remember the name of the website because the moment you start typing it is offering up suggestions of what it is you could be looking for. If you see what you want you just have to click on it. this is definitely the lazy way which puts it up on my number 1 favorite.

Google Spreadsheet

Google was way easier for me and I love it. whew that was a close one. check it out http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p2W5_gzrYvuWYdKq2pWWTdg

Zoho

this is a link to my zoho spreadsheet http://sheet.zoho.com/public.do?docurl=oNg955zQJSOq8igBVb78Dw%3D%3D&name=8v%2F%2FNz%2BWTUo%3D . I created it for game on. It was easy enough for even me to figure out but it has a serious delay and when you change font or size you have to make changes and then get out of the box to SEE the changes. that made me kinda a crazy. also it doesn't keep the spaces i wanted the title to be spreadout and it would not keep the spacing. grrrrrr.
T
PS i TAKE I BACK THIS THING IS @#$% In the process of copy and paste. my sign up that I wanted has now been deleted $%^@ and the one that is saved has now taken 34 brain cells and is not how i wanted it. @##Q$% is there an undo button somewhere on this #%^%$ page! double grrrrrrrr

library 2.0

i actually read all of these but my favorites were "Away from Icebergs" and "To a temporary place in time". Which is funny because they are almost polar opposites. I agree with Iceberg saying about how its really hard for some us to let go of things that do not go out that much and just in case someone asks for this we better keep it. there are so many ways to get information out there. do i think we should only hold new books? no but our space in the library is seriously limited and i think we need to save room for what circ's or gets used. I "liked what place in time" had to say because it shows how she predicts the library to come full circle as "knowledge spa". That sounds great to me.

rollyo vs google

i definitely like the google one better. in rollyo it seemed super slow it would only allow 1 search and freeze. i tried the same searches in google and was MUCH happier. i could be that i just was glad to see a familiar layout. i could seem how it would be beneficial. i liked that you i could search for one book in 3 systems simultaneously ( i created a google search with renton, spl and kcls. it was great.

best blogs ever

i would like to say that i have officially made it on the best blogs ever page....hate the game not the player.

wikis

had absolutely no idea that anyone could contribute/edit this stuff. i took wikipedia like an encyclopedia everything to be true and factual/boring. i was exploring one the library wikis. i liked the one about the chicago ala 2005 and how you never NEVER ask for ketchup on your hotdog in chicago. i made me pretty hungry cause my favorite things on hotdogs is mustard, sauerkraut and onions...yuummmm. anyway wikis are cool. its kind of like a community blog but there is also a huge potential for someone posting something wrong or horrible.

librarything

...is awesome. i love it! i have already started adding things to my library. definitely one of my favs so far. one of my co-workers was watching me browse and fell in love with it too. have a great day!

technorati

technorati is pretty cool. i clicked on it real quick and clicked on virginia tech and read the shooter's play. which after reading that shows how truly whack this guy is. This is the link http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0417071vtech1.html

del.icio.us

I am not sure what to make of this. I signed up for delicious way back when i first signed in for a flickr account. i had noticed the del.icio.us sign down on the bottom and clicked away. Not sure really how to use it or how it serves a purpose. but after reading some of the peoples comments, i guess its really popular. so i guess its great. just not for me.

friends

well thank god for instructions i had tried doing this on my own and has inviting people to join my space rather than adding them as my friend. and after struggling with this for a while i went back to the kcls27things blog and read the directions. Thank you, thank you very much. I almost lost a dozen brain cells on that one.

my space

yes finally something fun and useful! This has been my favorite one yet. I have a work my space and a personal my space. The personal one i use to keep in touch with my family and friends that i don't normally get to see or talk to you. It is great! http://www.myspace.com/170434467 that's me

rss feeds

sorry i am not feeling this one. was it hard to do? no i just don't find it very exciting. i clicked on all the search links typed in dogs most did not pertain to what i was looking for. i feel like this 27 things project is becoming overwhelming and fulltime. i am pretty behind and am trying to get caught up at home. why are there 2 projects per week? no motivational speaker this month either. how do you call in sick a month in advance? sorry i am pretty disgusted this was really boring.

mash-ups

So yesterday and today I played around in the tools listed. Honestly I couldn't actually find them on flickr so I had to keep logging back on to the kcls blog and click the link. I thought the tag spell a little wierd not very amusing. In fact I thought I had done something wrong and an evil spirit was trying to communicate with me :) sike. That was last week. Now I know its supposed to be entertaining. Good to know. Mappr was pretty cool. I found some awesome pictures of seattle by serious photo people (yikes). Montaggr was my favorite it takes photos from flickr and makes mosaic of a picture in the corner. Actually sorry Mappr would have to be my fav. I also tried the trading card one but in order to save it or post it on flickr, you grant them full access to your pictures. A warning comes up saying hey do you trust these people with your account? they have access to change/edit your photos and can view photos set to private. They also have access to all your info. Well the computer talked me out of it and I went back to something more to my liking like trying to communicate with the evil spirit hidden in the scrambled letters of my tags.

found a cool game on flickr called fastr here is the link- http://randomchaos.com/games/fastr/

This is what my driveway looked like the last time it snowed. I love this picture!

It was a little harder setting up my flickr account to merge with my blog but once you have it set up its a breeze. I have like 5 blogs now and I had to set all of them up.

Cluster Blog

I think I found a great way to communicate with the cluster... and its fun. Please check out the cluster links for ideas of how we could using blogging in the workplace. When they said play I hope they were serious! (most of this has been done at home victor don't worry:) !)

registering

Yahooo! I am a registered participant. I thought this task would be slightly more complicated but so far I am really liking this 27 things project. The instructions are clear and extremely easy. I am ready for anything they throw at me! Bring it on!

I hear staff members working towards their 27 things and at 1st it was kind of an "i don't know about this" kind of attitude (although most have been wonderfully open to give this a try) and now I think staff is realizing "hey this isn't so bad" to " hey i am really liking this, i am having a blast!" kind of attitude.

Its fantastic and wonderful to be able to play at work!

23 things to go!

cha-cha-cha!

that's right i forgot to mention i used chacha.com the other day to help a patron(after the fact.. I promise to be quicker next time) with a guide. thank you very much! it was totally cool. i was at bp no librarian in sight. had called bu let the patron talk to a librarian. patron still didn't get what they wanted and left frustrated**only because she was wanting info from a book#she had tried surfing the net*google* and couldn't find anything# and we had nothing** yikes. I thought about 2.0 and what I could have done better. I tried chacha.com with guide they asked how they could help i typed in my question he immediately brought up 3 different links to help me out. I will definitely try that next time.

monday afternoon

I am sooooo ready to register my blog. I opened an account with flickr and as I was browsing my pictures I noticed down on the bottom it said "Save to del.i.cious" so I did and I opened a del.i.cious account. Just yesterday I opened a "youtube" account so I feel I am on my way.

pictures

adding pictures was kind of hard for me. i think the pictures saved to my computer are to huge. so i opened a flickr account. it was much easier uploading to flickr and copying it into my blog. this is rather addicting. i am anxious to figure out how to register my blog onto the kcls blog.
